The Advanced Creative Techniques Photographic Workshop is designed for photographers wanting to add to their skills. During the day you will have the opportunity to put into practice what has been discussed in the classroom during the morning session.
The Great Fen is a 50-year project to create a huge wetland area. One of the largest restoration projects of its type in Europe, the landscape of the fens between Peterborough and Huntingdon is being transformed for the benefit both of wildlife and of people.
Our location of the Great Fen will offer the photographer the chance to experience a wide range of stimulating photographic opportunities including landscape, macro, flora and fauna. Whilst walking around the Great Fen reserve we will discuss composition ideas for improving your images. The Great Fen is home to many iconic species of birds, mammals and invertebrates and should we be lucky enough to encounter any of these, we will use the field-craft techniques discussed earlier in the day.
Due to the large expanse of the reserve and the terrain we recommend that you bring appropriate footwear (walking boots/wellingtons) and outdoor clothing suitable for the day. Sunscreen and insect repellent can be useful depending on the weather. Tea and coffee will be available on arrival and during the classroom session but you will need to provide a packed lunch and refreshments for whilst we are out on the reserve.
